Last Saturday, I went to my company, and solved the network problem of Project Arena. After that, I went to the bus stop.
Soon, a young man, who looks like a Taiwanese, with yellow skin, black hair, about 28 years old, came and asked me: "Do you speak English ?" I replied "a little."
He took a hundred-dollar note and asked me, "Could I take bus with this ?" "Of course. But it will no change." (The poor English I have..)
I just wanted to tell him that each section the bus goes cost only 15 NTD, but the words in my mouth were like...
"One ... period ? ........ One....... one..... one section costs fifteen dollors."
"one ~ five, right ?" Clearly, my pronunication was not so good.
"Hmm." I nodded.
"So no matter where I go, it just costs $15?"
OMG...You know. A man in nervous will become forgetful. I suddenly forgot how to say the word "distance", and I fell in silent for a while. The air became a little embarrassed.
Finally, I told him: "The far the buses go, it might cost two or three sections fee ." I used the word "far" to replace the word "distance"...
Then he said "Thank you." with a very-shiny smile and left.
He was really a gentle guy. He wore glasses, a polo shirt, short hair, and nice smile. That's the type I like! Hmm..I meant that is the style I admire. I supposed to ask him, "Are you overseas Chinese ?" But maybe he would reply "Welcome to Singapore."
PS: "Welcome to Singapore." The dialogue in the movie: Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At world's End
